FileMaker Firm Profiles - Can we profile you?

As many of you know Architosh has been running Firm Profile stories on successful AEC and 3D studio practices which actively engage the Mac in their production pipelines. So far we have three Firm Profile articles (which can be found on the main page).

FileMaker Profiles

While we have a half dozen new Firm Profiles in the pipeline for 2002, Architosh now wants to turn its attention to the use of FileMaker Pro in the technical creative fields. This focus will reflect the publication's interest in "structured data" and wireless technologies.

If your firm uses FileMaker Pro by utilizing third-party FileMaker developer solutions or by developing or customizing FileMaker Pro database templates we would love to talk to you and learn more. And! if you develop solutions for commercial or consultation uses we would love to share news of your FileMaker solutions with the rest of the Mac CAD/3D community.

FileMaker Pro and the Creative Markets

As many of you are aware, FileMaker Pro is already the most popular database product in the small to medium business market, as well as in education. Its 'ease-of-use', graphical advantages and Web publishing capabilities make it an extraordinary software package for design professionals. Moreover, it is simply more powerful a tool from the point of view of easy custom development, adaptation and extension.

FileMaker Pro owes its success partly from being a superb cross-platform application, serving the Windows, Linux, Mac and now Mac OS X markets. This platform flexibility makes it extremely popular with organizations and educational institutions which utilize and embrace multi-platforms. Even better for Mac users is that FileMaker is a wholly owned Apple subsidiary with very close ties to Apple development. However, FileMaker's runaway success isn't due to Mac users, per se, but rather its majority and rapidly growing user-base on Microsoft Windows platforms.
