Architosh completed its successful two-phase work with its M1 25 Beta Group for Architosh participants. The culminating highlight for participants was the chance to win a free Mac mini with Apple Silicon (M1 chip) inside.
Steve Holzer Winner!
Steve Holzer was the draw winner on this past Wednesday. As we noted earlier this week we had three types of primary beta users and Steve falls in the academia or educational group of readers. He is a respected voice in the built environment, member of the Infrastructure Workgroup, Design Tiger Team Lead at Digital Twin Consortium, member of the National Institute of Building Sciences buildingSMART Alliance Council, and formerly a member of the board of directors for AEC Hackathon, and former Product Evangelist at BIMobject. Architosh and XPresso reader, Steve Holzer was among the participants in the M1 25 Beta Group for Architosh. He won the draw for the M1-based Mac mini this week as the group’s work closed last week. All participants in the beta group won lifetime Architosh INSIDER Membership, which is a site subscription level.
We met up on Zoom to have a quick chat about his winning the draw for the M1 Mac mini. He was enthusiastic and excited and was digging into learning more about the Neural Engine onboard the Apple Silicon chip.
“We need levels of education—not just in seeing what everyone is doing—but where people need to go,” said Holzer on our Zoom call yesterday. “That’s something that I see you guys doing a lot,” he continued, “you share a lot about platforms, on practices. It’s not just visual ‘that’s really cool’—we have enough of that,” he said.
Holzer was among several AEC industry influencers in our small beta group and we spent quite a bit of time together in one-on-one Zoom call sessions post a detailed short survey that collected data about not just what these particular readers thought about Architosh and future site features we discussed with them, but also what they thought about other sources of similar information on the Internet and where their concerns lie with the future of the industry.
