This fall Vixel and BIMcollab enabled their users of Vrex and BIMCollab to work on 3D models using virtual reality and professional issue management. The integration creates a productive workflow, where the latest issue lists can be attained and worked on through collaborative VR sessions within a matter of minutes. Combining the world’s most powerful VR-solution with the most versatile issue management platform pushes new heights in 21st-century engineering and construction.
Synchronized BCF issues
Integrating Vrex with BIMcollab expedites the work process between BIM and VR efficiently while also remaining user-friendly. Users will be able to access all issues from BIMcollab directly through Vrex. Along with creating new issues, users will be able to review and comment on existing ones as well. Team members can then immediately begin solving them in modeling software because issues are automatically synchronized through BIMcollab to BCF managers in BIM authoring tools. Through Vrex, users can easily invite colleagues and sub-contractors to join them in virtual collaborations, even if the users are not customers of BIMcollab or Vrex.
“Virtual Reality is the best tool available to communicate BIM clearly to everyone involved in the project and to make sure they fully understand the challenges the project is facing and the proposed solutions,” says Rune Vandli, Project Manager of Vixel.
Advantages of employing VR
BIM-users worldwide are adopting VR at an increasing rate, and the list of advantages appears to be unending. Users of Vrex have reported reduced miscommunication, early detection and elimination of errors, less traveling, and, an overall reduction in time consumption and monetary costs. Demonstrations and trials are available for BIMcollab users upon request, with or without VR equipment.
