VR News: Bohemia Interactive Simulations (BISim) becomes Varjo Reseller in Asia-Pacific

Varjo, the leader in industrial-grade VR/XR headsets, has announced that Bohemia Interactive Simulations (BISim), a global leader in training and simulation solutions, has become a value-added reseller for Varjo’s VR/XR industrial-grade headsets in the Asia-Pacific region.

Varjo and BISim

The agreement essentially means that BISim can resell Varjo head-mounted displays (HMDs) to its customers in Australia and New Zealand who are interested in the highest-fidelity virtual and mixed reality solutions for training and simulation.

BISims’s portfolio will feature both of Varjo’s human-eye resolution headsets, VR-2 and VR-2 Pro (including hand tracking), as well as its photorealistic mixed reality device XR-1 Developer Edition. The latter product makes it possible to seamlessly mix synthetic and real content, meaning it mixes photographic reality with virtual reality together into one image.

Training developers will not be able to generate highly immersive, cost-effective training solutions by combining BISim’s VBS Blue image generation system with Varjo’s VR/XR HMDs, meeting the demands of scenarios across land, sea, air, and space.

“Varjo provides the only HMDs with human-eye resolution that allow trainees to read small text and see objectives at realistic visibility ranges in virtual and mixed reality simulations. With the industry’s most advanced integration with our mixed reality HMD XR-1, VBS Blue IG is an ideal software platform to address emerging requirements for mixed reality training where a user needs to see and interact with a physical cockpit or crew stations while immersed in a synthetic environment. Together with BISim, we are thrilled to accelerate VR/XR training opportunities for our customers in the Asia-Pacific region,” said John Burwell, Global Lead Simulation and Training at Varjo.

“BISim is excited about deepening the partnership with Varjo in Australia and New Zealand,” said Ryan Stephenson, Managing Director of Bohemia Interactive Australia. “Virtual and mixed reality technologies can bring major cost savings and portability compared to other forms of visual systems. With Varjo’s photorealistic visual fidelity and integrated eye tracking, combined with the power of VBS Blue IG, we can now provide to our customers the best quality in virtual and mixed reality training.”

Varjo launched its global reseller network a year ago to provide enterprise customers globally with more access to its VR/XR industrial headsets. Since then, the program has grown to include over 30 authorized reseller partners across North America, Europe, Asia-Pacific, and the Middle East.
