The folks at the award-winning virtual reality software startup, IrisVR, have announced they have released a plugin for IrisVR Prospect for Grasshopper.
Grasshopper is a visual algorithmic programming application typically twinned with Rhino 3D, both software packages belonging to Robert McNeel & Associates.
Grasshopper Plugin for IrisVR Prospect
The plugin is a working prototype to export Grasshopper files (and Rhino files, by extension) to OBJ file format, which is supported now in IrisVR Prospect. With this prototype you can export surfaces, meshes and breps and apply materials and set layers for each object. Materials can be read from an open Rhino file or created from scratch using the Human components from Grasshopper.
The plugin allows you to save design options as layers which can then be reviewed one by one in virtual reality. Adjusting textures quick in Grasshopper. And you can step into parametric design options by using Grasshopper’s parametricism to test scale, lighting and proportion all in the VR driven interface of IrisVR Prospect.
