V-Ray 3.0 for Max is a comprehensive physically-based lighting, shading, and rendering toolkit built to meet the creative demands of CG artists and designers in numerous fields and industries. All of the features listed above can be explained further in detail.
A new progressive rendering sampler enables faster feedback even with complex features within the render scene such as Environmental Fog, DoF or motion blur, is just one area where brand new features have been added. The Progressive Sampler uses a path traced rendering engine compatible with multiple GI solutions including Brut Force, Irradiance Map and Light Cache.

These are great feature updates to an already excellent technology stack from Chaos Group. The group continues to push the envelope in realism and render image quality options. We expect some of these to make their way to the future version of V-Ray for SketchUp (currently at version 2.0).
