MacAEC News: Mac firm produces facilities management software suite
Architosh was delighted to learn about a Macintosh-based architecture firm that has produced a suite of facilities management and real estate software. Facility Wizards Software (at www.facilitywiz.com) is, according to their website, "software for people who manage facilities, not computers."
"Designed and developed by architects, facility managers and real estate professionals (not computer programmers) to give you the power to manage, maintain, and communicate critical facilities related data without specialized computer knowledge." Facility Wizards Software has four products. Projecto (TM) is project management software for firms handling facilities management. This, like all of their products, is a product developed using FileMaker Pro Developer software. The interface is really quite clean and not intimidating, unlike some database programs handling this level of information. Their next product is called Workorderama (TM). This program tracks work order request and priorities, as well as order job costing and billing, time tracking for order duration and summaries of trade and job type. Their is also a tenant summaries section. Workorderama can be integrated with Tenantometer (TM) their tenant management software. Tenantometer manages basic project information, project funding, budget status, executive summary project schedule, project team directory and project manager's notes. Integrated add-on models handle financial aspects such as project cost accounting (PO's & invoices), long-term capital budgeting and project vendor directories. Lease-o-lator (TM) is their last product and is, as you might think, a lease management software package. Critical dates, encumbrances, allocation of leases to departments, lease abstracts and summaries, lease cash flow forecasts and NPV analysis are all of the functions this product provides. The product can also be delivered with a customizable "clickable" map of your company's regions and an integrated currency exchange tool for management of international lease portfolio's.
