Organized by Greyscalegorilla, the popular online community and resource for accessible motion graphics and 3D software training and tools, the evening event is geared to inspire the 3D and 2D design community with a mix of peer demos and presentations, eating and drinking, networking and mingling, in a party-like atmosphere.
Event Scoop
The evening brings 3D and 2D artists, animators and designers together for learning, community and celebration.
“Motion graphics is more than just flying text around,” says Nick Campbell, Greyscalegorilla site host and motion graphics designer/trainer. “As in year’s past, we look forward to welcoming motion graphics designers to the event—people who speak our language—to share ideas and explore new techniques and technologies that affect the way we work and celebrate our craft amidst great food and beer.”
“It’s ‘crazy’ how Half Rez continues to grow,” says Chris Schmidt, Greyscalegorilla director of 3D product development and Half Rez co-organizer. “This year we’ve moved the festivities to the Lincoln Hall concert venue where we expect to comfortably accommodate more than 230 enthusiastic Cinema 4D artists and we have a great collection of prize giveaways, games and surprises in store for guests.”
Paul Babb, president/CEO of MAXON US, will be heading to Half Rez and joined by marketing team members: Rick Barrett, Mathias Omotola and Patrick Goski. “MAXON is committed to the artist experience of our product and cultivating community,” says Babb. “We especially love customer appreciation events like Half Rez where we can meet users face to face in a fun environment and support opportunities that help motivate and educate them and remove the barriers to creativity.”
Earlier this month, MAXON announced Cinema 4D R17 (R17), the newest version of its leading 3D software solution for motion graphics, visual effects, visualization and rendering. At Half Rez, attendees will able to see demos of the powerful new features in R17 that positively impact the creative experience.
