Tech Soft 3D releases HOOPS Communicator 2015

Tech Soft 3D this week announced the release of HOOPS Communicator 2015, an easy-to-deploy developer toolkit for adding advanced import and visualization of 3D CAD and BIM file formats to mobile and browser-based solutions. Pivotal updates include an expanded API for creating custom operators including redline and measurement tools. Another enhancement gives developers more control to launch, manage and monitor server-side rendering processes to better optimize their IAAS (infrastructure as a service) costs.

“HOOPS Communicator provides a complete foundation for 3D web visualization, so engineering software developers are free to focus on differentiating their products,” says Gavin Bridgeman, VP of Products. “These new enhancements give them the opportunity to do just that with better ways to adapt and control their customers’ experience.”

Better WebGL and IFC Files Support

Developers also now have the flexibility to support the WebGL variant of the HOOPS Web Viewer for both iOS and Android, and enable import of the latest versions of Autodesk® Inventor®, CATIA® V5, Solid Edge® and Creo™ for their users. Additional performance improvements include the ability to handle large IFC files.

01 – HOOPS Communicator 2015 adds more support for BIM, larger IFC files and many more file formats, plus better WebGL. The technology is behind SolidWorks’ eDrawings product via the web browser.

“HOOPS Communicator 2015 was vital to our ability to deliver such a powerful web version of eDrawings,” says Vajrang Parvate, Senior Director, Product Development at SolidWorks. “The new customization APIs made it possible for us to create the eDrawings ‘look and feel’ as well as offer support for Views and PMI and integrate a world-class viewer with our new MySolidWorks Professional offering. Tech Soft 3D’s technology and team have again demonstrated why SolidWorks has relied on them as a key technology partner for well over a decade.”
