ODA’s New Open IFC Viewer 22.3 Release—An Overview

Recently the Open Design Alliance (ODA), a company committed to providing industry-leading CAD and BIM interoperability solutions for software developers and their users, announced the release of their Open IFC Viewer, version 23.

Let’s take a look an overview look at what Open IFC Viewer 22.3 is all about.

The latest version of the ODA Open IFC Viewer (v. 22.3) includes several new features including measurement tools so users can take-off distances between elements in the BIM model, as well as snap to the nearest vertex. IFC models can also now be published to interactive 3D PDF format.

Snapshots can be saved to several different bitmap formats. And improved visuals come about via new anti-aliasing and ground shadows for better realism. There is also an interactive view cube which simplifies 3D navigation.

“Our new measurement support and 3D PDF publishing make Open IFC Viewer more attractive for professional users,” said Neil Peterson, ODA President. “We’re also pleased to offer features such as anti-aliasing and ground shadows, which are inherited from our Visualize SDK.”

“Open IFC Viewer is a great example of the type of sophisticated application you can easily build with ODA Software,” adds Peterson. “ODA members can integrate our advanced technologies into their own applications, or can simply rebrand the viewer for their own needs.”
