The AIA Convention has brought with it many announcements from digital technology solution providers, and the biggest week in America for architects was not without news from GRAPHISOFT, a global leader in BIM technologies.
The Hungarian software company has announced an important milestone in its support for OPEN BIM, being among the first to receive IFC4 Reference View Export Certification (Architectural Reference Exchange).
Open BIM — IFC 4 Reference View Export
A pioneer in the OPEN BIM movement, GRAPHISOFT implements the universal open BIM approach based on open standards and workflows using the buildingSMART data model, which provides benefits for the collaborative design, construction and operation of buildings.
“ARCHICAD is recognized internationally as the BIM solution providing the most comprehensive IFC import and export. ARCHICAD users have absolute control to determine all the parameters of the elements to be included in the IFC file,” said Miklos Szovenyi-Lux, OPEN BIM Program Manager, GRAPHISOFT. “At GRAPHISOFT, we believe that providing open collaboration workflows is in the best interest of our customers and the industry as a whole to achieve greater productivity and ultimately a better-built environment.”
IFC4 Reference View facilitates high-quality coordination workflows for the design disciplines: architecture, structural engineering, and building services. The certified IFC4 Reference View 1.2 Export will be available in ARCHICAD 23, the latest version of GRAPHISOFT’s award-winning BIM solution for architects, which was announced in May.
