The company writes on its announcement blog: “We recognize the importance of connecting our subscribers to a range of services in our ecosystem. A new and easier way to get that help is here.”

Key Takeaways

Marketplaces are all the rage and invaluable in helping customers save time finding vetted service providers. This marketplace is also a “leader” for clients for those who are inside the marketplace, providing a mutual benefit.

The way the Autodesk Services Marketplace works is a customer of Autodesk has a company but needs help getting various staff more versed in using a particular technology across a workflow, say, for example, BIM 360. Now this marketplace helps this customer find and vet providers who are specialists in supporting this very technology and workflow.

Using search, the user can specify criteria such as industry, product, location, type of service, etc. to find the best provider for their needs.

Once a provider is selected the scheduling, payment, terms, etc. stay between the person seeking the service and the provider.

Autodesk’s role is vetting the providers and being a connector. The new marketplace is starting with just the AEC industry but plans to expand to other industries over time.

The Services Marketplace will operate initially in English; however, services will be offered in other languages by providers from North America, Canada, parts of Europe, Australia, and New Zealand. The participants include construction-specialized platinum and gold partners and AEC-qualified experts. To visit the Autodesk Services Marketplace, go here http://servicesmarketplace.autodesk.com.
