ABX 2017 Will Host “Design Technology Throwdown” Competition

Decades ago the CAD industry had design competitions called “CAD Shootouts.” They were incredibly important and yet fun events; back in the 90’s many professionals were still evaluating which CAD platforms to embrace for their firms and the various CAD shootouts helped audience members witness in real time how design professionals actually can work within various digital CAD platforms.

Unfortunately, those shootouts stopped happening. So it is exciting to see that ABX 2017 together with GREENBUILD, International Conference and Expo will be hosting some kind of similar live event.

The Design Technology Throwdown in Boston

On Thursday, November 9, 2017, a scheduled event takes places from 12:30 pm – 5:30 pm titled “Design Technology Throwdown”—described as a “first-of-its-kind” competition and teams will face off to see who can design the best solution to a mutual design problem.

01 – ABX 2017 and GREENBUILD to host first-of-kind Design Technology Throwdown.

A champion will be crowned at the end of the event, for the best use of contemporary technology to develop, document, and validate their design. This event is not merely an ABX 2017 event but also a GREENBUILD event so extra consideration will be given to projects that incorporate environmental analysis and sustainable design strategies.

You need an assembled team of four (4) people to register for this event. You can learn a bit more here and find the path to registering for this design competition.
