E-on Software, a leading developer of software for the visualization and 3D software industries, has announced this week the release of final versions of its plugin suite for Carbon Scatter and Ozone 2017.
E-on Software—Discontinuing Carbon Scatter and CloudFactory Ozone
This will be the last release of the Carbon Scatter plugins and plugins for CloudFactory 2017 suite plugins. The company, which is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Bentley Systems, will discontinue development of both of these product lines in 2018 so they can focus on better customer support and user experience for their flagship solutions VUE and PlantFactory.
Included in Offical 2017 Release
The new 2017 releases of Carbon Scatter and CloudFactory plugins—which will include Personal Learning Editions—are expected to ship in Q3, 2107. E-on Software will continue to support the 2017 plugins for both of these product lines, at no cost to customers, until September 2018. Customers with valid maintenance plans for either Carbon Scatter or CloudFactory Ozone on 1 June 2017, will receive the 2017 pre-release versions as a free upgrade in the coming days.

The company has had somewhat overlapping product offerings for some time now and they will now be focusing on VUE and PlantFactory going forward.
E-on software will ensure all customers under maintenance plans will receive the maintenance plans benefits until such plans expire. Beginning immediately, maintenance plans can no longer be extended for either plugin.
Carbon Scatter 2017

- Optional automatic sun softness computation, based on atmosphere parameters

Pricing and Availability
Carbon Scatter 2017 and CloudFactory Ozone 2017 are available in English for 64 bit versions of Windows 7, Windows 8 and Windows 10 and Intel Mac OS X platforms (10.7+).
A single license of Carbon Scatter or CloudFactory Ozone 2017 can be used with all compatible applications and renderers installed on the end user’s system.
Carbon Scatter 2017 retails at US$295 with upgrades from Carbon Scatter 1/2 and 2015 at US$199.
CloudFactory Ozone 2017 retails at US$295, with upgrades from Ozone 5/6 and 2015 at US$199. RenderNode network rendering licenses are available at $95 per node.

Until 1 October 2017, users of Carbon Scatter 2015 – 2017 and CloudFactory Ozone 2015 – 2017 can crossgrade to the VUE xStream for $1,195.USD with a 1-year maintenance contract or $995.USD without maintenance. After 1 October 2017, the price to crossgrade will rise to $1,620 and $1,320.USD, respectively.
