Carl Bass, the former longtime CEO of Autodesk, has taken a position on the board of directors for Formlabs, an industry-leading 3D printing company headquartered in Boston with offices in Germany, Japan, and China.
Joining Good Company
Architosh has written about Formlabs prior, back in August of 2016. (see, Architosh, “Foundry Group and Autodesk announces $35 million in Series B funding for Formlabs,” 12 August 2017). At that time both Autodesk and the Foundry Group of the United Kingdom jointly announced a $35 million investment in Series B funding for Formlabs. At the time Brad Feld, co-founder of the Foundry Group joined Formlabs’ board. And the former general manager and VP for Europe in Apple, Pascal Gagni, had also come on as a strategic advisor. Bass’ new position further positions Formlabs overall leadership.
Bass’ New Role
Carl Bass will be an independent director of the company. “We’re honored to have Carl join the board,” said Max Lobovsky, CEO of Formlabs. “Under this leadership, Carl transformed Autodesk from a 2D design company into a global leader in 3D design and engineering software.
