The Foundry launches MODO 10 Series—Next Generation 3D Platform

The UK’s The Foundry, has announced this week the launch of the MODO 10 Series, to enhance the exploration of the creative process.

Built on next-generation 3D modeling, texturing, and rendering technology, the platform enables creatives to iterate freely as they pursue their creative ideas. The MODO 10 Series is poised to deliver valuable new feature sets in a series of three installments for a single price.

The Foundry only highlights the first of these next three installments in the MODO 10 Series. Starting with MODO 10.0v1, the installments in new technology address the challenges users are facing in today’s fast-paced production environments while also preparing them for the dynamic requirements of the future.

01 – The Foundry talks up MODO 10 Series…aiming at more immersive, VR and gaming integration features in future versions.

MODO 10.0v1 opens the door for creating real-time content for games or other immersive experiences like virtual reality (VR). Fidelity in look between MODO and game development platforms like Unity and Unreal Engine will help artists feel confident during the creation process. The company plans a lot of automation in the pipeline between MODO and game development engines.

MODO 10.0v1 will be available in the second quarter of 2016 and will be followed by releases of MODO 10.1 and 10.2.
