Learning Evolve 2014
The folks at solidThinking have been busy creating lots of new tutorials. Users can check out part 2 of a video showing a shower gel bottle modeled in Evolve. You can see it here.
solidThinking’s latest newsletter also showcases some exciting work being done by their customers. One such user profile focuses on the world’s first 3D printed metal bicycle frame. Chris Williams of Empire Cycles in the UK has been working with Additive Manufacturing components in production for many years and contacted Renishaw, an established world leader in product development and manufacturing with leading-edge laser melting processes and emerging Additive Manufacturing expertise.
Using solidThinking Inspire Williams first worked with Renishaw to reduce weight on a seat post. They work they did together helped reduce the new post design from 360 grams to 200 grams—a huge savings in weight with zero loss in structural capacity. This work led to the team working further attacking the entire bike frame. To read the complete story click here.
