Senior Associate Editor at Architosh, Pete Evans AIA, a longtime member of the AIA’s TAP BIM Awards group, has informed us that the official 2014 AIA TAP Building Information Modeling Awards have been announced. The deadline for submission is before 5:00 PM EDT, 16 December 2013.
Awards Program – What is It
The AIA Technology in Architectural Practice (TAP) Knowledge Community is hosting its Tenth Annual Building Information Modeling (BIM) Awards competition. The competition is seeking outstanding projects that exhibit superior and distinguished uses of interoperable building information modeling. The Tenth BIM Awards builds upon the innovative responses received from previous award winners in 2005 – 2013.
Since 2005, this special TAP group has spearheaded an effort to highlight award winning “best of breed” case studies from the profession in harnessing BIM technology in architectural practice, to advance design, construction and project excellence.
New Partners in Program This Year
As noted in sessions in the recent past at the AIA National Convention, where the awards are presented, the BIM AIA TAP group has discussed more engagement options for these awards with other organizations involved in the same stakeholders and interests.
This year three new industry partners are involved in the 2014 BIM Awards. They include BIMForum, COAA and IFMA.
