Abvent releases iVisit 3D for Autodesk 360 Rendering

France-based Abvent this week has announced the release of iVisit 3D for Autodesk 360 Rendering. iVisit 3D for Autodesk 360 converts Autodesk Revit panoramas rendered with Autodesk 360 Rendering into full, 3D presentations.

iVisit for Autodesk 360 Rendering works by generating real-time previews and an node floor plan that supports the user’s ability to explore a building virtually. The technology works across the web and on popular mobile platforms like Apple iOS and Android.

How it Works

Here’s how it works. Users connect to their Autodesk 360 account and initialize rendering calculations in the cloud. The different viewpoints used to create the multi-node panoramas are rendered into images–six large vertical views of a project which iVisit 3D then uses to create a full 360 degree panorama.

01 – Abvent iVisit 3D for Autodesk 360 is new and offers Revit users presentation options.

iVisit 3D works on both Mac OS X and Windows computers. Users simply import their panoramas and, if necessary, the plan views of the project. The panoramas are linked together and positioned on the plan views. The links created in this step will facilitate the navigation between nodes in the final iVisit 3D panorama.

Exploring the Results

To experience the panoramas the iVisit 3D user chooses to calculate the results in HTML or PNO or both formats. The HTML package is then uploaded to a web server where the iVisit 3D experience can be viewed or sends a PNO file to their mobile device via email, iTunes, Dropbox or box.com.

The Abvent Group has been offering cutting edge software technology since 1985 and is the developer and publisher of the well regarded Artlantis family of stand-alone rendering 3D software. Headquartered in Paris, the company has has offices in Switzerland, Hungary, Luxembourg and the United States. Architosh Analysis

Abvent’s iVisit 3D technology is a wonderful solution for getting BIM models into the hands of non-BIM software users–like clients. Back when we wrote our first release of the Ultimate iPad Guide: Apps for Architects, there were very few good options like this for getting architectural and BIM models in particular on mobile devices. Utilizing a long-provent technology and approach, that is, VR technology and the multi-node approach, something Apple pioneered a long time ago with QuickTimeVR and its authoring studio, Abvent is offering solutions for a host of leading BIM tools. Also this week they released iVisit 3D for ArchiCAD.
