ARCOM bringing Masterworks to the Mac platform

ARCOM, the developers of the prominently used Masterworks specifications software for AEC (architecture, engineering and construction) professionals has announced the upcoming Masterworks version for Macintosh. This will add another product in its SpecWare suite of specification productivity software.

Designed Around Microsoft Word 2011

The new Masterworks for Mac version will be designed for use with Microsoft Word 2011 for the Mac and is scheduled for a Fall 2012 release. It will provide the same tools and productivity features that PC users have been using to create and edit construction specifications quickly and easily. Masterworks tools include wizards for automating repetitive tasks, global editing and formatting, extensive reports, and much more.

The Mac version will also include SpecAgent, a companion resource that provides side-by-side access to manufacturer product information while editing MasterSpec and SpecText.

“As a personal Mac user, I know how important a Mac version of Masterworks is to MasterSpec and SpecText licensed users,” said Christopher Bushnell, President and CEO of ARCOM. “This version will bring long-needed productivity tools–written specifically for the Mac environment–to these users.”

ARCOM is the leader in specifications and exclusively publishes MasterSpec for The American Institute of Architects (AIA) for use by architects, engineers, landscape architects, and design professionals involved in building projects. ARCOM owns and publishes SpecText for use by civil, environmental, and structural engineers for infrastructure projects.
