Vray rendering plugin for Mac SketchUp coming

ASGVIS LLC is working with the Chaos Group to develop the native Mac OS X Vray plugin for Google’s popular SketchUp. The company’s blog has recently published some screen shots of a half-done solution showing the materials editor window and a sample render.

ASGVIS was actually formed in 2005 as a visual imaging studio providing 3D visualization services for a variety of clients but has spun into a custom software development house as well, enabling its team of visualization professionals to work along software developers to service its clients and extend software suites deeper into developing markets. Mac OS X continues to be seen as an expanding market opportunity.

Vray for Mac OS X SketchUp

While there are already other very good photo-realistic rendering plugins for Google’s Mac version of SketchUp, Vray is one of the most popular renderers in the AEC visualization market and has served as a rendering plugin of choice for Autodesk 3ds Max and McNeel’s popular Rhino.

Now Vray is coming to Mac OS X compliments of ASGVIS and SketchUp. This post from their blog is actually from late May but it was new to us and we have written into ASGVIS to get an update which we hope to post ASAP.

01 - Blog post by ASGVIS of their upcoming Mac Vray plugin for SketchUp.

If you have an interest in Vray on Mac OS X then definitely write this company and share your thoughts. We should note that there was a more up-to-date post from late June that spoke about concurrent Mac and Windows software development on this Vray plugin. The goal being of developing them at the same time for release at the same time.
