LTB Software has released LTB Light 8.0 for Mac. LTB Light 8.0 is the only software for natural and artificial lighting calculation with color radiosity method applied to a finite element plan.
The program utilizes OpenGL under Mac OS X and data management takes place through an internal powerful CAD system, directly in a perspective view. LTB Light 8.0 can share information with other CAD systems through a few common formats like DXF and PICT files.
Light sources are managed inside the main program and it is possible to import, show, modify and use IESNA LM-63 photometric data files (ACSII text files commonly used by North American lighting fixture manufacturers) and EULUDMAT (European standard).
Calculations controls include levels of illumination, allocated energy amounts, correct positioning of light sources (type, numbers, power…) and direct and reflected colors.
For ever object in the scene it will be possible to also have a planar-projected mapping with values-mapping and/or curves-mapping overlapped. It is also possible to print or export these results as TEXT, RTF, PICT, DXF files or into other formats via copy-paste into various programs.
LTB Light 8.0 can be used to determine correct lighting levels within rooms and spaces and includes a “Road Tool” to find the best installation as regards fixtures, pole distances and height.
LTB Light 8.0 works with Mac OS X 10.4 or higher. It’s Universal Binary so it runs on both PowerPC and Intel-based Macs. The program retails for 299.USD. To learn more visit them here. http://www.ltblight.com/
