Mac3D: Alias/Wavefront
to ship Maya for OS X Sept 25th
According to a press release Alias/Wavefront will ship Maya for
Mac OS X on or before September 25th, of this year. That's good
news for professional 3D Mac folks, who are beginning to write into
us stating that more and more pro 3D users are increasingly interested
in the Mac OS X platform.
Alias/Wavefront Enthused About OS X
"We are thrilled to be on the verge of releasing Maya as a
native Mac application," states Mark Sylvester, Ambassador
at Alias|Wavefront. "Mac OS X provides the kind of powerful,
open environment Maya users demand with a UI that artists love.
Apple has done a tremendous job of implementing their support for
Open GL and we can't wait to see what the Mac graphics community
is going to be able to do with Maya once it's available to them."
The company is currently offering a special early adopter promotion
for Maya on OS X. Anyone ordering the product before December 31,
2001, will be entitled to receive twelve months of maintenance,
including upgrades and support.
