Matterport, Inc., the world’s leading digital twin platform company, announced in February new AI-based property intelligence features. Called Property Intelligence, the new digital features are a collection of AI-powered capabilities.
AI Property Intelligence
Collectively, the new capabilities provide customers with access to automated measurements, layouts, editing, and reporting capabilities generated from a Matterport digital twin of their property. The new features will benefit property management and marketing professionals, AEC professionals, and facility managers.
Years in the making, Matterport’s AI features leverage its years of advanced spatial data, computer vision, and deep learning. RJ Pittman, Chairman and CEO, Matterport stated:
Since day one, our mission has been to fundamentally transform how people understand and access the built world. Our 3D digital twin technology set the industry standard for the virtual tour, and now we’re delivering unprecedented information and customization capabilities to our customers for any type of property anywhere in the world.
He continues: “Across the globe, Matterport serves nearly one billion virtual tours each year to let people walk through their potential dream home, manage a chain of retail stores, or operate their manufacturing facilities remotely. Our advancements in AI, automation, and property insights save our customers valuable time and help them make smarter decisions for their businesses and better serve their clients.”
CAD Add-On
The AEC industry relies heavily on Matterport, which is used by general contractors, architects, and engineers alike. In December of last year, Matterport announced a beta version of its CAD file add-on. This add-on introduces useful CAD file export features, with the aim of saving AEC professionals countless hours of documentation of the existing conditions in buildings or manual tracing of scanned paper documents.
Matterport Takes on Design
Matterport’s Project Genesis is an upcoming technology only being previewed at the moment. Project Genesis leverages the company’s experience in machine learning and AI to deliver generative AI-based redesigns of a scanned space.
