Autodesk has introduced the latest version of AutoCAD for Mac, version 2022, concurrently with AutoCAD 2022. (see report here).
AutoCAD 2022 Mac and LT Versions
New features for the native macOS version of Autodesk’s flagship CAD application include enhanced Block Libraries. You can now display recently used blocks in the Block Library tab for a speedier utilization. If you are using a cloud storage file or folder, you can also access blocks across devices and block libraries in the cloud are indicated in the Blocks palette. You can now specify a folder, drawing file, or any block definition in a drawing to insert into the current drawing.

Blocks can now be displayed as a list in the Blocks palette, which can be sorted by name and type. And you can have easy access to insert a drawing as a block from any tab in the Blocks palette. And you can rename a block definition while inserting a block.
An interesting new feature is the ability to export layouts to a new DWG file. This saves all visible objects from the current file and drops them into the model space of a new drawing file. Objects that are outside the boundaries of “paper” in the layout are also exported. The new command EXPORTLAYOUT creates a visual representation of the current layout in the model space of the new DWG file.
The Shortcuts tab in the Customize dialog now allows you to customize shortcut keys. You can edit, add, and remove shortcut key assignments.
AutoCAD 2022 For Mac and AutoCAD LT 2022 For Mac feature numerous new features to streamline workflows. New ways to customize shortcut keys are shown in the image above.
Recent Input is a new feature that helps the user quickly repeat commands. If no command is currently active, the Recent Input menu contains the recent commands. If a command is active, the menu contains the recent coordinates.
Connect to Autodesk Drive and Autodesk Docs
You can now connect to Autodesk Drive and Autodesk Docs from within AutoCAD Web. With AutoCAD Web and Mobile, you can access your files in the cloud. These additional integrations further the anytime, anywhere, any device type of access users want with their data.
Availability and Trial
AutoCAD 2022 For Mac and AutoCAD LT 2022 For Mac are available now. To download a trial create an Autodesk Account if you do not yet have one. The trial is 30-days.
While the AutoCAD web app is included with a subscription, you can try it out for free through the ongoing Web Access Program by logging into the AutoCAD web app today.
