Luxion Announces KeyShot 9.2 Is Now Available—New Rendering Benchmark Tool

This month the folks at Luxion, a world leader in advanced, real-time ray tracing software technology, has announced that KeyShot 9.2 is now available.

New features benefit both KeyShot and KeyShot Viewer in the latest 9.2 updates, which build on features introduced as part of KeyShot 9.

What’s New in KeyShot 9.2

KeyShot 9.2 offers a brand new Translucent material for CPU rendering. Luxion says the changes are so significant that the material has been renamed to ‘Translucent Medium.’ The new and improved material is based on the GPU version of Translucent Advanced that was previously available in KeyShot 9.1.

The new translucent material rendering technologies, for both CPU and GPU, are at peak optimization for performance and quality, as can be seen below in the image.

KeyShot 9.2 features improved CPU based translucent material rendering and a new benchmark tool in the free KeyShot Viewer.

KeyShot 9.2 now supports NVIDIA’s NVLink technology which allows multiple GPUs to work together to crunch out a rendering. For example, two NVIDIA Quadro RTX 8000 GPUs will provide a combined 96 GB of memory. When you have multiple GPUs tied together with NVIDIA’s NVLink technology you can see the combined available graphics memory in the Head’s Up Display in the Real-Time view.

Another Benchmark Tool

Luxion has an all-new KeyShot Benchmark tool. The Benchmark tool indicates how fast your CPU or GPU will render KeyShot scenes compared to a reference system using an Intel Core i7-6900K CPU (@ 3.20 GHz using all 8 cores).

A score of 1.0 is equivalent to the performance of the reference system. A score of 2.0 means that your system is twice as fast as the reference system at rendering KeyShot scenes. To run the KeyShot Benchmark simply download the free KeyShot Viewer and select Benchmark after the software starts up.
