Hewett’s new role at Bricsys will be to join their global team to assist customers moving to the next level of productivity with what the company believes is the most superior dwg-based CAD software application today—BricsCAD and BricsCAD BIM.
After earning her B.S. in Architectural Engineering, Hewett joined Autodesk as a product support technician. During her 26-year tenure at Autodesk her roles advanced to Training Specialist, a Senior Applications Engineer, and eventually as a Technical Marketing Manager.
“For well over a decade, the world was told that the .dwg file format is not suitable for advanced design workflows,” says Hewett in a company press release. “It can’t be used for mechanical design, and it certainly can’t be used for BIM.”
“Bricsys has shown that this old belief is simply not true,” she says. “The .dwg file format is alive and well and kicking serious butt. I am looking forward to helping Bricsys take .dwg to new, previously unimagined levels, and I’m excited to be part of the team that is doing this for our users.”
Teacher and Communicator
A life-long learning, Heidi Hewett earned an M.S. in Technical Communications and an M.A. in Information and Learning Technologies from the University of Colorado. She will bring her passion for learning to Bricsys, where she will be work with customers to accelerate their paths to success with BricsCAD products.
