01 - Potential test takers can review the principles of the software in online tutorial sessions to brush up on the basics of ARCHICAD before beginning the test.

In Boston, MA Graphisoft® has announced the development of an online ARCHICAD certification test, allowing students to evaluate their skills and prove their worth to potential employers. The multiple choice formatted certification test can be taken in thirty minutes, but the results can have a lasting impact. Across North America, high profile ARCHICAD firms seek savvy graduates to join their staff.

“This certification program underscores our long-standing commitment to supporting architecture and design students as they prepare to enter the workforce,” said GRAPHISOFT North America Managing Director, Steve Benford. “Our free resources and interactive training materials, combined with a way to measure competency with these tools provides a path to success.”

Up-to-date skills in BIM is an advantage

Current figures from the Bureau of Labor Statistics, U.S. Department of Labor, Occupational Outlook Handbook, 2016-17 Edition, Architects show strong competition for jobs and internships in the coming years. Job-seekers with up-to-date technical skills in BIM will have an advantage.

“Proven proficiency with leading BIM systems remains the key factor in a successful entrance into the job market today. Certified ARCHICAD knowledge in and of itself can be the deciding factor that pushes one candidate in front of another in line for a job,” said Phil Allsopp, Senior Sustainability Scientist at Arizona State University and President of the Royal Institute of British Architects United States Region (RIBA-USA). RIBA-USA is the organization responsible for educational programs spanning high school through professional certification, including support of the RIBA’s Part III professional licensure examinations, which are now being offered in the United States.

“We want young, cutting-edge thinkers to join our team. We also want to be able to have them hit the ground running, and in our firm – that means they need to know ARCHICAD. Any candidate with certified ARCHICAD skills comes to the job interview with a leg up on the competition,” said Keith Peacock, Architect, BIM Manager and Associate, Kitchen & Associates.

Potential test takers can review the principles of the software in online tutorial sessions to brush up on the basics of ARCHICAD before beginning the test.
