Rhino 5 today does not have the plugin support but that work is active and ongoing and the company states that version 5.1 is aiming to have plugin support. For Rhino 5.x the company will add the missing elements that the Windows version has, such as Worksessions, Layouts, and Animation tools. There is not priority ordering for which of those items will come first, second and last. Those who buy Rhino 5 for Mac will receive these updates at no additional cost.
In other words, buying Rhino 5 for Mac today will fix you into a version down the road that completes the missing pieces of the software.
Grasshopper support is the biggest requested feature for Mac. The company doesn’t have a time-table to announce yet. What can be said is that Grasshopper is planned to be integrated into Rhino 6 for Windows, but even the company is not saying this to the press or public, it’s something being stated to Rhino users directly in the forums.
