ButterflyNetRender 6: Mac OS X Controller Complete—Apple Gains Another 3D Tool

Liquid Dream Solutions has recently announced the newest version of its popular network rendering controller application—ButterflyNetRender 6. The latest version version now supports Apple’s Mac OS X platform. Now users can setup the Controller on an OS X machine (Windows machines are not required).

Apple Platform Gains Another 3D Tool

Liquid Dreams Solutions has long had a leading network rendering technology solution and competes with many other network rendering solutions in the market. This latest version provides a OS X controller itself, thereby enabling the network controller app to run on a Mac computer, something several other companies have already had (PipelineFX’s Qube! being one of them).

ButterflyNetRender 6 works with essentially all of the industry’s leading and major 3D software packages, including many architecture industry visualization apps like Cinema 4D, 3DS Max, Maxwell Render, and VUE. Other tools include Lightwave, Modo, Maya, XSI, Digital Fusion, After Effects (AE), Blender, 3Delight, Houdini, Mental Ray, Nuke, Arnold, Terragen 2, MachStudio and more.

01 – Liquid Dream Solutions’ ButterflyNetRender 6 now supports Mac OS X as at the controller level, meaning a Mac can be used to control the popular network rendering environment.

Committed to software excellence, the development team keeps ButterflyNetRender current with technology changes by adding new features to meet the needs of the computer graphics industry.  It is widely used throughout the industry to create animations and television shows.  Below are the most important new features in ButterflyNetRender.

Major Changes in Version 6:

ButterflyNetRender, which one might say has a kinda funny name for a piece of software this serious, has many substantial clients in its roster, including the US’s NASA agency and leading visualization studios around the world.

Pricing And Availability

For those who maybe reading this and wondering, BNR (short for ButterflyNetRender) Client runs on client rendering machines on OS X, Windows and Linux. The Mac support also supports PowerPC based machines (running OS X 10.5 or higher) so older machines can be used as render slaves. Many Mac users have older PowerPC machines lying around these days.

ButterflyNetRender 6 Professional (16 nodes) is priced at 379.USD and the controller runs on Windows or Mac OS X. Professional Studio version has no limit on number of render nodes and cost 1,400.USD.
