Graphisoft has updated its BIMcloud workflow integration technology such that there is now further integration between its award-winning BIMx Docs on iOS devices and its award-winning BIMcloud cloud-based building information modeling (BIM) platform.
Earlier in the year, BIMcloud was awarded the Silver Stevie Award in the Best New Product or Service of the Year in the Software / Cloud Application category, in the 11th annual International Business Awards.
How the Update Works—What’s New
Thanks to this latest update to BIMcloud, external team members can also be directly involved in the BIM workflow through the integrated Team Messaging that is now enabled for mobile devices as well. An Internet connection is all that’s needed for access from any device, including mobile devices. Here’s how it works:
- members of the architectural design team run ArchiCAD in the office environment to create and author the BIM project;
- the BIM project is hosted, shared and managed through GRAPHISOFT BIMcloud, providing access to the projects from anywhere in the world;
- external team members such as designers visiting the construction site or clients and consultants can join the BIM workflow by using GRAPHISOFT’s BIMx Docs app. The app allows sending and receiving instant messages with annotated model views to other team members, providing invaluable design feedback to the design team working in the office.

To take advantage of BIMcloud’s mobile integration, users are invited to download and install the latest, free ArchiCAD and BIMcloud product updates, as well as update their BIMx app via the App store after our live, online BIMcloud demo on October 30.
