Luxion’s KeyShot gets new Integration with solidThinking Evolve 2014

solidThinking, Inc. and Luxion, Inc, have jointly announced today that there is new product integration between solidThinking Evolve 2014 and Luxion’s popular KeyShot real-time photorealistic rendering program for Mac and Windows platforms.

KeyShot, the market’s first real-time rendering and global illumination software application, today announced complete integration between solidThinking Evolve and KeyShot. This new integration allows solidThinking Evolve users to quickly generate high quality photorealistic renderings of their products and designs by using the new LiveLinking™ technology between Evolve and KeyShot.

The history-based solids and surface modeler, solidThinking Evolve, is a growing in popularity “product design” application coupled with a popular rendering tool. Both work equally across both Mac and Windows platforms.

01 – solidThinking Evolve 2014 has new LiveLink to Luxion’s KeyShot for rendering options.

Beginning in solidThinking Evolve, users are able to explore styling and design solutions with the freedom of organic surfaces and parametric, history-based solids. Then, with a single click, transfer the model directly into KeyShot. Once transferred, users can apply scientifically accurate materials, real-world lighting, and animations through simple drag-and-drop operations while seeing the results in real-time.

Additional integration of Luxion’s LiveLinking technology allows users to continue making changes to the model in Evolve and automatically update the geometry in KeyShot without the need to re-apply materials, lighting, animations or camera views. This eliminates rework, streamlines the workflow and frees time for more creative tasks.

“The integration of LiveLinking with Evolve is extremely valuable to our customers who use KeyShot,” said Darren Chilton, Program Manager, solidThinking. “The LiveLinking feature allows our users to work more efficiently and increase their productivity.”

“The integration between Evolve and KeyShot complement each other beautifully,” said Thomas Teger, Vice President of Products and Strategy at Luxion. “Both can be used on either Mac or PC, and both harness a design workflow that allows faster creation of 3D visuals from design conceptualization through manufacturing and development of images for sales and marketing.”
