GRAPHISOFT BIMx ranked 3rd in Top 10 Apps for Architects

Graphisoft has announced this week that its BIMx Docs application for iOS devices like the Apple iPad has been ranked 3rd in Top 10 Apps for Architects, chosen by the editors of ArchDaily.

BIMx Docs

BIMx Docs is a new extension of the previously available BIMx app which enables full 3D navigation of complex BIM models. BIMx Docs adds extensive features and capabilities to the base BIMx app.

The award-winning Graphisoft BIMx Docs edged out large industry competitors such as Adobe, Autodesk and the popular Rhino application in the highly competitive field of AEC software. According to ArchDaily, “…Hyper-models–Graphisoft’s term for describing BIM on mobile devices–has the potential to make BIM even more popular. As an app that can be used by every member of a project’s design and construction teams, it’s worth checking out.”

01 – BIMx Docs is a function pack for Graphisoft’s BIMx and it packs a tremendous amount of new features and tools into the mobile BIM offering.

BIMx Docs features some unique technology for BIM in the mobile space, integrating both 3D and 2D workflows in a mobile application using its innovative “hyper-model” navigation technology.

Architosh Analysis

Earning honors like these is a great marketing plug for software developers and the list of top 10 apps at ArchDaily contains a strong set of choices. In fact, it contains several of the same apps we noted in our Ultimate iPad Guide: 12 Must-Have Apps for Architects. Of particular note are Morpholio Trace, Paper by 53, AutoCAD 360 (formerly AutoCAD WS), and MagicPlan.

BIMx Docs is a huge and interesting update to BIMx. It is great to see the Hungarian company get noted so quickly after releasing this version.
