Abvent of France has launched iVisit 3D for ArchiCAD in a public beta fashion today. The tool and service allows ArchiCAD users to insert panoramic cameras into ArchiCAD projects, link them together, and generate iVisit 3D panoramas viewable on a Website and on mobile devices. The players that can read these interactive panoramas are available in Flash, Android and Apple iOS and are free to download and use.
iVisit 3D for ArchiCAD
Abvent’s iVisit for ArchiCAD software adds a specific tool palette to ArchiCAD, accessible from the ArchiCAD menu Design > Design Extras > iVisit 3D > Show Palette. From the tools users can create, delete, and link nodes, graphically, in the ArchiCAD project.
Each node is a panoramic camera which calculates a cubic 360 degree rendered view. The user than links nodes together so that the user can experience navigating around inside the project. The iVisit for ArchiCAD users the ArchiCAD rendering engine to calculate and setup all the required images necessary for the selected panorama and creates a plan view of the project at the same time to be used as part of the navigation experience.
The result is an HTML folder which packages the entire set of files to be experienced on the Web using an Adobe Flash player. The user uploads the package to the web server to view it online. To view the package on a mobile device there is a different build process to package the iVisit 3D experience.
