SIG: Pre-SIGGRAPH news: Lightworks to make major announcement

SIGGRAPH 2013 begins next week in Los Angeles, California, and some companies are planning major announcements. One of those is United Kingdom-based Lightwork Design Limited.

At SIGGRAPH 2013 Lightwork Design will announce a major new partnership and product coming soon. The company claims this announcement will “shake up visualization within the CAD industry as we know it.”  The company’s upcoming announcement will concern the combination of seeing hardware and software combined to bring ray-tracing and highly accurate visualization to the masses.

David Forrester, CEO of Lightwork Design, commented: “Our new product launch, and partnership, will uniquely position us within  the high end visualization marketplace. We’re all excited by this new opportunity and will be perfectly placed to deliver further releases, including cloud based solutions, as a result of this launch.”

The official announcement of this partnership and product release will be announced at 10:00 (PST) on 21 July 2013 at SIGGRAPH’s 40th International Conference and Exhibition on Computer Graphics and Interactive Techniques, in Anaheim, California.

Architosh Analysis

As part of our SIGGRAPH 2013 show coverage we look forward to learning about this announcement in all its detail. Over the past several years many top Mac-based CAD and 3D products moved away from or supplemented rendering options to Lightworks in their products. One notable company is Nemetschek Vectorworks, which chose to replace its Lightworks rendering engine integration with its sister company Maxon’s CINEMA 4D rendering engine. We will be really curious to learn more about the hardware partnership as well.

Along with this highly anticipated buzz-building announcement, today we published an exciting bit on Abvent’s Artlantis 5 count-down website where the French company is anticipating to make a major product release rock the world of visualization also. All this exciting news is good news for users who are filled with great products to choose from and products that fit nearly ever need.
