NAB: Autodesk shows new Smoke professional Mac video editing software

The Autodesk Smoke community continues to grow as new users adopt the easy-to-use workflow of editing and effects together in one application.

At NAB 2013 this week Autodesk announced a radical redesign of Autodesk Smoke Professional Mac video editing software and video editors have enthusiastically embraced uniting editorial and effects together to create compelling stories. Autodesk reported that an extended trial version of the software late last year gave them invaluable feedback that led to Smoke undergoing five iterations of redesign.

Autodesk survey information showed that 57 percent were new to Smoke, 39 percent were new to Autodesk software, 13 percent were Autodesk animation customers and another five percent used other Autodesk software. In general that is a big group new to Autodesk software.

Autodesk is also showing its Autodesk Flame software for 3D visual effects, a comprehensive finishing toolset that combines visual effects, editorial, and real-time color grading in a single offering.

01 - Autodesk Flame is being shown at NAB 2013 along with a new version of Autodesk Smoke.
