Bluebeam Revu 11 was announced earlier this week with a great many new features and improvements. Revu 11 introduces such things as Sets and new support marking up 3D PDF files.
Revu 11 is now officially supported on Windows 8 but Mac OS X users appear to have a longer wait for getting a native version of this application on their beloved platform. Along with Sets you can now split documents into multiple sections without altering the source file in any way. Files in Studio Project can now be synced down to allow for offline access and edits to them can be brought back up Studio once Internet connectivity is re-established.
There are enhancements to the Stapler tool for publishing and combining documents, many new improvements with markup tools such as Callouts, Clouds and Text Markups, and there is a new AutoMark tool for managing bookmarks better.
3D PDF Features
In a BIM world some tools such as Revit and Navisworks (and there are others) support 3D PDF format directly. With Bluebeam Revu 11 you can now convert IFC files directly into 3D PDFs for work within Bluebeam Revu.
3D rendering has been improved, transform allows you to move separate elements within a 3D PDF and you can copy elements from a 3D model and past them into a new PDF as a new 3D model.
User Interface and Other Improvements
Other items include improvements to the Formula Editor, Drag & Drop columns in the user interface, the management of auto-complete, direct edit of PDF templates from the File > New drop down menu and more.
On the plugin compatibility front, AutoCAD, Navisworks Manage/Simulate and Revit (latest versions) are supported, as is SolidWorks 2013, MS Offfice 2013 and there is a IE browser plug-in that now supports FileOpen and PDFs on secured websites.
