Vectorworks BIM Event in Boston

Nemetschek North America will be hosting a BIM event on March 3, 2010 in Boston. The event invitation reads: “Join us for this ‘big picture’ presentation about Building Information Modeling (BIM) and its historical and technological precedents.”

This event aims to teach the audience the difference between CAD and BIM and how BIM affects the design and construction team.

The event is free and takes place at the Boston Society of Architects/AIA building at 52 Broad Street, 5th Floor Conference Room, Boston, MA 02109. Event runs from 6 – 7pm with an hour long Q&A session. To sign-up go to:

ArchiCAD behind BrightBuilt Barn

The BrightBuilt Barn is an innovative “net zero” home that needs no furnace, is easy to repair/upgrade, and is designed to last for centuries. It is also a major innovation award winner by the US Green Building Council (USGBC).

The BrightBuilt Barn was designed by Kaplan Thompson Architects in ArchiCAD by Graphisoft. Bensonwood Homes built the home which won the 2009 LEED for Homes Innovative Project Award. To read the full statement go here.
