Nemetschek North America has announced a Continuing Education (CE) event with AIA (1 AIA CEU credit) titled BIM In Perspective. The one hour learning event takes place on January 29, 2010 at 3:00pm EST. It is an online presentation by Wes Gardner, AIA, Industry Expert at Nemetschek North America.
BIM In Perspective
Nemetschek says this is a “big picture” online presentation about the use of Building Information Modeling (BIM) and its historical and technological precedents. Learn how BIM differs from CAD, how BIM afffects design and construction teams, and the implications of BIM for the design and construction process.
Learning objectives include:
- Describe some historical precedents for BIM
- Motivations for why architects want to use BIM in practice
- Comparison between CAD workflow and BIM workflow
- Describe meanings of acronyms IPD, IDM and MVD
This looks to be a good event regardless of what CAD/BIM platform you may be using today as it will be backing up from the particulars of a solution and looking at the BIM transformation in practice as a whole.
