According to a story onAppleInsider, Adobe plans to make a major announcement within the next two months about Adobe Acrobat 9. The new version will primarily extend today’s high-end version features to the mainstream. The software will also enable collaboration on documents from an Adobe server, similar to the Web-based beta service launched on Monday.
The ability to create “fillable” PDF forms in the Standard version will be limited to the Windows release. Mac users will only have this option in the Professional version. This should not surprise anybody as Adobe has positioned the Professional version as the base version for Macintosh PDF creation. The Mac features built-in PDF creation and viewing and printing.
