@villagefeatures - Apple is very much in favor of the open standard OpenCL. CUDA, like Flash, has proprietary written all over it and Apple greatly prefers not being controlled by such de facto standards (as does Microsoft in fact, even more). A report the other day said that the GPUs are on daughter cards. If this is true (and I hope so) than there is a possible future for GPU upgrades (Apple certified or after market) and maybe Nvidia will come into play?

I would say that the new Mac Pro appears to have a much narrower appeal than previous generations. Graphics, while powerful doesn't have an Nvidia option which alienates CUDA powered apps from consideration. Also, the 64GB limit is problematic for Heavy photoshop users and some types of 3D rendering. While I like the direction of the design, it would seems to be wise to make it cubic not cylindrical so it could accommodate another logic board for extra RAM and Disk space. Having said that, I'll eventually get one anyway.
