Don't forget about Strata!

Strata is a longtime and key 3D Macintosh developer that many newer Mac users may not know about. The company was acquired last year by C3D Digital Inc., a company focused on a multitude of new media technologies "for the new millennium", as they put it on their web site.

Strata Software, the makers of Strata StudioPro, StrataVision, VideoShop and MediaPaint are a division of their parent company. However, the company is still located in St. George, Utah, near the Zion National Park and the Grand Canyon. According to their web site, Strata is currently working very closely on a new generation of Strata software with integration capabilities with C3D Digital's other division, 3D.com, a web portal focused on bring revolutionary 3D technologies to the Web. In addition, this planned new line of Strata software will not only be "web-enabled", tying into resources at their web site, but feature stereoscopic rendering and the ability to create interactive 3D web objects.

Strata Software - Millennium Madness Bundles and Offers

The Millennium Madness Bundle includes ProShaders, ProCreator, the Model Master Extensions and a version 2.5.3 updater on the CD-ROM, for Strata StudioPro users. This for a price of $249.

The current price for StudioPro (full version) is $749, available for Power Macintosh and NT. Competitive upgrades for either Mac or Windows are as low as $189. You must supply a valid serial number of the competitive upgrade offer. If you are interested in upgrading from Strata Vision 3D to StudioPro the cost is $189. Strata Upgrade Downloads

Currently there is an updater for StudioPro 2.5.x update to 2.5.3 for both Mac and Windows. Additionally you can get the updater by CD for the cost of shipping. There are also updaters for Clouds II, Ripples II, Model Master, Jiggle and an important update for StudioPro 1.75+/Vision 5.0 MP updater for multiprocessor-based Macintoshes. Note: You must be using Mac OS 8.5.1 or earlier for multiprocessing of Strata apps.
