"Through the Graphisoft Prize competition, Graphisoft promotes its Virtual Building* concept in architectural design and practice. The "virtual building" embodies the integration of building data through intelligent objects, powerful visualization and communication tools, and access to building information at all times. Using ArchiCAD as a design tool and virtual reality (included with ArchiCAD) as a visualization tool, entrants are challenged to create virtual architecture, drawing from cultural themes." This year's event had a record number of entrants. The distinguished jury included Jean-Pierre Cousin, technical editor of Architecture d'Aujourd' hui (France); Sarah Amelar, senior editor at Architectural Record (U.S.); Cathy Slessor, managing editor of The Architectural Review (GB); Christian Schittich, editor-in-chief of Detail (Germany); Ken Aoki, senior editor at Nikkei Architecture (Japan); with French architect Francois Soler serving as president.
