Gap, Inc. CEO Millard Drexler joins Apple Board
Apple announced today that Millard "Mickey" Drexler, president and chief executive officer of Gap, Inc., one of the world's leading specialty retailers, was appointed to the Apple Company Board of Directors. Steve Jobs explained that Drexler's "expertise in marketing and retail will be a tremendous resource as Apple continues to grow in the consumer market". Drexler joined the Gap Inc. as president of the Gap division 1983, then went on to become president of Gap Inc. in 1987 and CEO in 1995. Gap Inc. operates more than 2500 stores in the US, Canada, United Kingdom, France, Germany and Japan under all of the brand names: Gap, GapKids, babyGap, Banana Republic and Old Navy. Apple's Board of Directors is now composed of the following members:
