OS X Server Now Shipping!

- Apple announced
in a press release today that Mac OS X Server is now shipping in the
US for $499 -- with an unlimited client license. Customers can order
Mac OS X Server from Apple Authorized Resellers and The Apple Store
(www.apple.com). Apple claims that
when running on a new Macintosh Server G3, the server OS is the fastest
platform for running Apache for under US $5000 -- outperforming Linux,
Solaris, and Windows NT Server.

- Apple says the system requirements for Mac OS X Server are any Power
Macintosh G3 or Macintosh Server G3, with 64 MB of RAM, 1 GB hard drive
