 Macworld Expo Photos Page - 6
 | | Microsoft did a wonderful job of celebrating the Macintosh's 20th Anniversary with a historical timeline wall. |  | | Such a dramatic introduction! Yes, many Mac and even more Windows users don't know that Microsoft was a key developer for the Macintosh from the very beginning. |  | | In 1984 Microsoft introduced Basic 1.0 for Mac and announced Word and File for Macintosh. Then in 85' Microsoft introduced Word 1.0 and Excel 1.0 on the Macintosh first, before Windows. Microsoft Works for Mac was then introduced in 86'. |  | | Here is something that even more Windows users don't know: Gates loves the Mac and always has. According to numerous insiders, including ex-girl friends (yes, even computer geeks can get them), Gates had a secret passion for the Macintosh, which likely originates from the pre-Macintosh days when Steve Jobs wowed him to the revolutionary new machine in order for Gates to write new software for the machine. In hindsight Bill Gates and his secret admiration for the Mac OS has been tremendously important to the history of the Mac and so this picture was nice to see -- a kinda validation of that often forgotten fact. |  | | Office 1.0 for Mac was introduced in 1989 and was voted InfoWorld Product of the Year. From the very beginning Microsoft has written some of its best software ever for the Macintosh platform. |  | | The iMac is regarded as the computer that saved Apple in the late 90's. It was so original when it was introduced that it caused much controversy, with many pundits predicting the machine would be a big flop. Thankfully they were all wrong. |  | | Clouds restaurant sits on top of the Moscone North entrance. It was the site of the Nemetschek North America Macworld party. |  | | Richard Diehl, CEO of Nemetschek North America gives a brief speech to a crowd consisting mostly of users, prospective users and Mac friends. | Other Items There were several other CAD/3D or AEC vendors at Macworld SF that we didn't get pictures of due to a technical problem with our camera. In particular Graphisoft's ArchiCAD 8 was on display to solid crowds as was FileMaker Inc's FileMaker Pro and the new line of FileMaker apps. Additionally, Microspot was showing MacDraft and their Interiors and other applications and their booth was very busy indeed. As you can see from these photos this Macworld Expo was a solid show with great attendance and action in the booths of Macintosh CAD/3D and AEC vendors. We anticipate this trend continuing in future Macworld Expos. For those who have never attended a Macworld Expo show before the San Francisco show is typically the best attended by CAD and 3D vendors in addition to other technical visualization and scientific vendors. | Photo Pages > | 1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5 | 6 | |
