Updated: CAD giant Autodesk debuts AutoCAD LT for Mac

Autodesk announces AutoCAD LT 2012 for Mac

Autodesk today has announced the addition of AutoCAD LT 2012 for Mac, in addition to a new 2012 version of the full version of AutoCAD for Mac. This is the first time in history that the CAD giant has made a native version of its light-weight version of AutoCAD.

AutoCAD LT for Mac is priced at less than 1000.USD and therefore fits under the price lid for the Mac App Store. Thus, it becomes the first highend professional CAD package at that price level to be sold through Mac App Store.

AutoCAD LT 2012 for Mac features numerous native Mac OS X features, such as support for Cover Flow, Multi-touch gestures, native OS X behaviors and more.

How does one define “highend professional”? What in LT is high end? What professional? Is it not LiTe – not high end, not professional.

Oh, now I get it: the word Autodesk implies “highend professional” in someone’s mind.

How much did they pay you, Mr. Frausto-Robledo?

  2. Hello “username” person above.

I want to address two things in your comment. You are right, how does one define “highend professional”? Fair comment. I practice architecture and do a majority of “highend” homes. People sometimes ask, ‘what makes a home highend?’ It’s a great question and open to full debate. Probably a useless debate.

As for the second part of the comment and last question…. Our ethics code is fully adhered to at all times. You can read it here. https://architosh.com/ethics/

    Thanks for your feedback.
